Heartbreaking moment man coldly rejects girlfriend’s proposal when she gets down on one knee in shopping mall

This is the heartbreaking moment a woman’s marriage proposal was rejected by her partner in the middle of a busy shopping centre,

The footage shows the brave woman getting down on one knee in front of a crowd of people.

As shoppers bustle past – some even stopping to watch the scene unfold – it is at first unclear who she is directing her gesture too.

That’s because the man in question is stood away seeming like he is trying to ignore the whole situation.

The excruciating video from Nigeria shows the hopeful woman not appearing to give up wanting her boyfriend’s hand in marriage.

But as she remains on the floor, with what looks like a jewellery box in her hand, the man appears as if he is asking her to stop.

Eventually he comes over to his partner and urges her to stand up before wrapping his arms around her.

But it is not the loving gesture some would expect.

He appears to whisper something in the woman’s ear before taking the box and walking off.

The camera then shows the heartbroken woman looking confused as a woman comes over to comfort her.

She then runs away wailing and the man is nowhere to be seen.

Facebook user, Christy Glo, claimed she was a friend of the woman in the video.

She told Information Nigeria that the man had whispered, “I am already married” in the woman’s ear.

The video also sparked a debate on the social media site over who should propose.

Others commenting on the clip said that while they thought the woman was brave she should never have got down on one knee in the first place.

Angel Kelechi wrote: “No matter what the society has turned to i still insist this is a man’s job. Leave it for them”.

Precious Chukwudi added: “This should serve as lesson to girls… U think cos we are in 21st century u can now become a man and do his job babe ur job is to work urself, build and empower yourself… Make urself a meaningful woman…”

And Chydo Lawrence said: “Babe I love your courage but in as much as we’re in a more civilized society, please it’s a guy’s job to propose to a lady!”

Cancer suffering grandma bursts into tears after opening ‘chemo blanket’ to discover beloved late husband’s shirt sewn into material

A grandmother suffering through stage four cancer was left in tears when she opened up her ‘chemotherapy blanket’ to discover her late husband’s shirt sewn into the material.

The thoughtful gift, made for Frances Jones by her grandaughter Maddie Smith, was designed to ensure the 79-year-old was never alone during her treatment.

Frances was married to her husband for 56 years before he passed away suddenly from heart failure four years ago.

Frances, who “never left his side”, struggled to come to terms with the loss.

So Maddie decided to make a special blanket to bring her grandmother some comfort.

Employing the help of her aunt, Maddie pinched one of her grandfather’s old, favourite shirts from Frances’ house, before embroidering it onto a homemade blanket.

In a heartbreakiung video, Frances opens the blanket, laughs and then begins to cry while clutching the blanket to her face.

As she watches on from behind the camera, Maddie says: “I think when my grandfather died, he took a huge part of her [Frances] with her too.

“She hasn’t been the same since his death, but with time I’ve started to see the old her come back little by little.

“They did everything together – you’ve never seen two people love each other more.

“This is why I wanted to incorporate my grandfather into the gift somehow.”

“I couldn’t imagine what it would be like to go through something like this without your other half at your side,” Maddie continued.

“I knew she’d want him there to wrap his arms around her, and that’s when the idea hit me. “Over the years I’ve taken tonnes of his clothes home with me, so she wasn’t suspicious in the slightest.

“I was so excited for her to see it, I didn’t expect anything remotely close to what happened.

“It was just one of those moment where the flood of emotions just completely consumes you.”

Maddie added: “I started to cry the second she broke down – the whole family was crying by the end of it.

“We could feel our grandfather with us, which is what made it even more special.

“My grandmother told me it was the greatest gift she ever could’ve imagined.

“She has a few more weeks of chemotherapy and we will continue to be with her every step of the way.”
